History exhibits
Artifacts, photographs, letters, art, and historical dress.
Historic Fort Reno operates a visitor center and museum with exhibits on the fort's history. Displays include artifacts, photographs, images of the 1888 Cheyenne and Arapaho Agency, German POW letters, Buffalo Soldiers, Frederic Remington art, historical dress, and information about living history events and Black Jack, the riderless horse. The organization works to preserve and interpret Fort Reno's historical and cultural resources, support restoration of historic structures, and provide museum activities. It also hosts scheduled events, including historical tours, and welcomes buses by arrangement. A separate US Cavalry Association Museum is also located on the grounds and has its own admission. The visitor center and museum are on federal property in El Reno, Oklahoma.
