Praxis Bookbindery

Praxis Bindery offers book restoration and conservation, preserving books and documents through hand bookbinding. Its work also includes edition binding, fine binding, protective enclosures, marketing and presentation materials, and memoirs and self-publishing projects. The bindery brings traditional bookbinding together with contemporary craft and design, using materials such as leather, gold, paper, and parchment. Owner Peter Geraty has practiced bookbinding since 1975. A well-equipped shop supports a range of services, with projects tailored to clients' specific needs. Geraty is an associate of the American Institute for Conservation and a member of the Guild of Book Workers and Designer Bookbinders. He also directs the Comprehensive Bookbinding Program at the American Academy of Bookbinding in Telluride, Colorado.
