About Lucky Dog Books
Lucky Dog Books is a neighborhood bookstore. It sells recycled books, movies, and music, and customers can browse for almost all new book titles. The store also offers browsing for streaming audiobooks, with orders benefiting its bookstores. Two Dallas locations serve East Dallas and Oak Cliff. Books can be mailed, and customers can make requests or purchase gift certificates. The shops host events and have public spaces and lounge areas for gatherings. Readings, workshops, chat groups, and book clubs are among the event formats welcomed at the stores. Lucky Dog Books traces its history to a weekly book experiment in Terrell, Texas, in 1973, followed by a bookstore opening in downtown Mesquite in 1974.
