Urban agriculture
Market garden and silvopasture system on a one-acre farm.
Elmwood Farm is a nonprofit urban farm. It occupies one acre in Oak Cliff, next to Tyler Station, and includes a market garden, a silvopasture system with a mini orchard and crops, community composting, a playground, and event space. The farm offers agricultural education through hands-on classes and experiences, and focuses on farm-to-table food and community formation. Neighbors can take part in composting that diverts food waste and builds soil fertility. The site hosts dinners, concerts, workshops, weekly playgroups, and other community gatherings. Open Farm Fridays are available to the public from 9 a.m. to noon; members can access the farm around the clock. Elmwood Farm also makes its farmland available for a music festival each March.
