Works to address homelessness in Northeast Ohio.
Since 1987, NEOCH has worked to address homelessness in Northeast Ohio through organizing, advocacy, street outreach, and education. The coalition also helps people in Cuyahoga County who have low incomes or are unhoused obtain identification documents through the Identification Crisis Collaborative. Its annual Street Card is a free, portable booklet with information about local services for people experiencing homelessness. NEOCH distributes the card to individuals and community institutions. The organization also provides homelessness resources and seasonal shelter programming. Its work includes tenant organizing, sharing information about tenants' rights, and connecting with people who are homeless on the streets. NEOCH's approach is guided by people with lived experience of homelessness and focuses on the root causes of housing instability.
