The Honeycomb Project

Family volunteering is the focus of The Honeycomb Project, which has spent over 15 years helping children ages 3-17 take action in their communities. Based in Chicago, the organization mobilizes volunteers for projects addressing food insecurity, housing instability, environmental protection, and support for under-resourced neighborhoods. Its programs work with more than 50 nonprofit partners and include hands-on in-person projects, online lessons, and a high school Leadership Corps. Honeycomb designs and manages monthly projects, supplying site-specific curriculum and materials while helping nonprofit partners build capacity. Families, teens, adults, schools, companies, and community groups can participate through service activities, donation drives, mentorship, and other civic projects.
