About The Catcade
The Catcade opened its arcade-themed cat lounge in 2017. This Chicago nonprofit rescues cats from life-threatening situations, including under-resourced shelters, and works to find them homes through its adoption program. Visitors can reserve time in a 950-square-foot lounge where cats roam freely and guests can play, cuddle, and socialize with them. The adoptable cats receive veterinary care, vaccinations, deworming, spay or neuter surgery, microchipping, and FIV/FeLV testing. The lounge also has free-play arcade games, Nintendo 64 Mario Kart, and free Wi-Fi. Visitor fees help cover cats' medical treatment and shelter operating costs. The Catcade also offers foster programs, including foster-to-adopt, and welcomes volunteers and private parties.
