Stein Learning Gardens

Outdoor gardening classes are offered for all age groups. Stein Learning Gardens is a Chicago community garden and agricultural program serving the St. Sabina and Auburn Gresham communities on the city's South Side. Founded in 2018 by Barbara Stein, it provides garden education, grows edible crops, and helps create and maintain community gardens. The organization constructed a 6,000-square-foot farm and community food hub site in 2020, while distributing home garden kits through a collaboration with Chicago Grows Food. Its programs connect children and community members with food-growing education and access to fresh, affordable produce. Volunteer Days support planting, weeding, harvesting, site cleanup, and grow kit assembly at locations in Auburn Gresham and other supported community gardens.
