Sharing Notes

Sharing Notes is a Chicago-based nonprofit that provides live music visits for patients in hospitals and assisted living facilities. Its programs also serve patients' support networks and facility staff, bringing musicians into care settings through in-person performances. More than 190 professional and pre-professional musicians based locally participate as volunteers, with visits taking place across 15 health care facility partners. The organization reports serving 50,000 people and conducting 1,000 live music visits annually. Sharing Notes also presents community events, including Christmas performances at The Galway Arms. Its work centers on using music to provide comfort and connection in health care and assisted living environments throughout Chicago.
