About Sauganash Montessori School
Opened in fall 2004, Sauganash Montessori School enrolls children ages 3 to 6 in preschool and kindergarten. The Chicago school offers half-day, partial-day, and all-day programs, along with a nine-week summer camp. Its Montessori approach provides a prepared environment where children can explore and develop their natural desire to learn. Two spacious classrooms have a home-like atmosphere, and the child-to-teacher ratio is 10 to 1 or under. The school follows a traditional academic-year calendar and is governed by the American Montessori Society's ethical codes, as well as DCFS and Illinois State Board of Education regulations. It serves the Sauganash, Edgebrook, and surrounding communities. Applications are accepted for current and future years, and prospective families can arrange a tour.
