A hospital neonatal intensive care unit in Chicago. It provides intensive care for newborns who need specialized treatment after delivery, with neonatologists able to begin care within seconds of birth. The unit is located next to labor and delivery. Related fetal and neonatal services support pregnancies involving suspected or confirmed congenital fetal anomalies and complications that may affect a baby. Diagnostic services include advanced 3D and 4D ultrasound, fetal echocardiograms, fetal MRI, amniocentesis, and serum screening for chromosomal anomalies. Pediatric specialists participate in multidisciplinary consultations, prenatal planning, delivery planning, and plans for care after birth. Clinical coordinators assist with appointments, lodging arrangements, and parking passes, while social workers, chaplains, ethicists, and palliative care specialists offer counseling and guidance.
