Little Village Environmental Justice Organization

The Little Village Toxic Tour traces LVEJO's 20-year journey toward a healthier community. Based in Chicago, the Little Village Environmental Justice Organization works on environmental justice through community organizing, youth leadership, and climate adaptation. Its work addresses conditions affecting the neighborhood, including diesel truck traffic in the industrial corridor, clean air, lead in tap water, and water justice. LVEJO also conducts or supports studies on water and health, investigates environmental impacts, and shares information about local environmental concerns. Youth programs engage young people in becoming community leaders, while organizing efforts focus on equity and environmental justice. The organization provides instructions for external requests and collaborates with the Center for Neighborhood Technology on research concerning Little Village and Chicago-wide conditions.
