About Lakeside Pride
Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles provides performance groups and musical activities for LGBTQ+ community members and friends. Founded in 1997, the nonprofit includes six primary ensembles: Jazz Orchestra, Latin Band, Marching Band, Pops Ensemble, Resonate, and Symphonic Band, along with more than a dozen chamber ensembles. Adult musicians of any background, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation can participate as members, while audiences attend annual performances and special events. All ensemble members, conductors, and board directors are volunteers. Lakeside Pride is a 501(c)(3) organization whose operating budget comes from ticket sales, government grants, and individual donations. It is based in Chicago.
