Isabelle Rizo

Art psychotherapy sessions are available through Isabelle Rizo, a Chicago-based Medical Art Psychotherapist. She works at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital across acute care, pediatric intensive care, neurology, and psychosomatic medicine with medically complex pediatric populations. Her framework, medical syncretism, brings together neuroscience, art psychotherapy, ethnographic inquiry, and Two-Eyed Seeing. Rizo also speaks and writes about medicine, trauma-informed care, cultural ethnography, and medical humanities. Her training includes an MA in Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University and a BA in Visual & Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her offerings include the monthly Mundane Magic accountability community, which combines practical accountability with creativity, ritual, seasonality, and body-aware practices.
