Illinois Humanities

A public humanities organization. Illinois Humanities connects people across the state through free public programs, grants, and events focused on culture, history, and social issues. Its work includes grant funding, partnerships, events, and the Road Scholars Speakers Bureau, which provides presentations in communities throughout Illinois. The organization also supports youth poetry through the Gwendolyn Brooks Youth Poetry Awards and brings arts and humanities leaders together through conferences. Programs are designed for groups of different sizes, disciplines, and development stages, supporting local and statewide cultural activity. Illinois Humanities has worked throughout Illinois for 50 years and maintains a network of grantee partners across many counties.
