Garfield Park Community Alliance

Garfield Park Neighborhood Market sells produce grown in community gardens. Garfield Park Community Alliance is a Chicago community-building organization made up of residents and allies working to develop leaders and create opportunities in the Garfield Park community. Its programs support business owners and economic reinvestment in local business corridors, housing initiatives involving landlord and tenant issues, homeownership, and foreclosure prevention. The organization also coordinates a Garden Network, leadership activities, wellness efforts, community resources, and public meetings. Created in 2005 through a Quality-of-Life planning process, it became an independent nonprofit in 2012. Since then, it has developed more than 60 local projects with at least 50 partner organizations and facilitated more than $50 million in community investment.
