About FORA - Forging Opportunities for Refugees in America
A refugee education nonprofit. FORA provides refugees with education to support their lives in their new country. Its calendar includes the FORA 100 Speaker Series, with sessions such as a discussion of third places for refugee children and stories about refugees in the World Cup. The organization also offers Scouts at FORA, an opportunity for students to learn new skills. Literacy is another focus, presented as a pathway to independence during resettlement. These programs and events address learning, literacy, and student skill development in the context of refugee resettlement. FORA is based in Chicago.
