Firebrand Theatre

Firebrand Theater is a Chicago-based feminist musical theater company producing theatrical works, staged readings, and artist talks. Its programming includes musical productions such as Queen of the Mist and Always... Patsy Cline, along with new works in development. The company's current project, The Girl Who Sang With the Moon, combines American storytelling with Nigerian Igbo folklore and includes public readings, post-show conversations, and captions or supertitles. Firebrand Theater centers Women+ through its hiring practices, programming, and activism, with attention to intersectional perspectives across race, ethnicity, sexuality, religion, and class. The company is based in Chicago, where its performances and readings have been presented at venues including the Chicago Cultural Center and The Den Theater.
