About Balthazar Audio Systems
Balthazar Audio Systems is a Chicago manufacturer of hand-built tube guitar amplifiers. Founded in 2017, the company develops vintage-inspired designs based on unique early 1960s British amplifiers. Its products include the Film Noir 50 amplifier head and cabinet, the Film Noir 18 combo, and the Cabaret line, including the Cabaret Mk2 combo, head, and extension cabinet. Cabaret Mk2 amplifiers are designed for small-club performance and pedal use, with distinctive tremolo and all-tube spring reverb. Designs combine vintage-inspired tones with modern features and unique styling, while allowing players to move from clean sounds to crunch through guitar volume, pick attack, or pedals. The amplifiers are hand built in Chicago and offered through select dealers.
