Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois

The Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois manages a willed body donor program for medical research and educational institutions. It receives, prepares, preserves, and distributes voluntarily donated human remains for medical, biological, and anatomical education and research at licensed and accredited institutions. The association also provides resources and facility access for health professionals, students, and anatomical, medical, and mortuary science training. Eight Illinois medical schools make up the association, which supports the education of medical students and allied health professionals through supervised academic laboratory study. The AGA also provides guidance on donor material use, handling, and treatment, while educating the public about whole-body donation and the process through the return of cremains. It is located in Chicago, Illinois.
