About Alive Rescue
The organization rescues abandoned, abused, and stray animals, then provides medical, behavioral, and physical support to help them move into homes. Visitors can meet animals available for adoption, foster pets, or sponsor an individual animal. The rescue also operates The Big Barn, a shelter and sanctuary. Its no-kill work specializes in older, unwanted, sick, and forgotten animals, and its programs have included dogs, cats, and rabbits. ALIVE Rescue is based in Chicago and works to protect animal lives and welfare through rescue, rehabilitation, and placement. Fostering is a core part of its work, with foster caregivers helping animals in its care.
