Around Sound Studios

Serving Matthews, Mint Hill, and Southeast Charlotte, Around Sound Studios offers private guitar instruction. Lessons are available for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students, with acoustic or electric guitar and instruction in all styles of music. They take place in the studio or at the student's home. The teaching approach uses the guitar fretboard and CAGED system to explain chord and scale forms, alongside music theory and improvisation. Lessons are designed to help students understand what they play, develop creativity, and learn existing pieces. Instruction is available by appointment any day of the week. The instructor has played guitar for over 40 years, taught for over 10 years, studied music at the University of North Carolina, and played lead guitar in a working rock band.
