Central Islip Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance

Emergency medical services have been provided since 1955. Central Islip Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance is a 911 ambulance agency serving Central Islip, Hauppauge, Islandia, and the Hauppauge Industrial Park. It responds to more than 7,500 calls per year and provides emergency service around the clock. The organization operates as a volunteer ambulance corps and invites community members to volunteer, with a commitment of as little as six hours per week. Volunteers do not need to live in the areas served. The agency also offers volunteer training and describes benefits that include a New York State pension, tax deductions, and a property tax reduction.
