Religious art
Preserves art from closed houses of worship.
The Buffalo Religious Arts Center collects and preserves religious art from houses of worship that have closed. Its collection includes stained glass windows, statuary, oil and watercolor paintings, murals, and other religious artifacts. Housed in a former church, the center presents works created by European immigrants in the early 1900s. Tours are offered for class visits from fifth grade through college, as well as for the general public, with historical stories about the artworks and artifacts. The former St. Francis Xavier Church is also available as a wedding setting, and the center hosts special events, including concerts and shows. The center is located in Buffalo, New York.
