Ioby

ioby was a crowdfunding platform for community-led neighborhood projects, but it has closed its doors. It helped local leaders and organizers raise resources for projects addressing community issues and build more sustainable, healthier, greener, and livable neighborhoods. Support included personalized fundraising coaching, match funding, and fiscal sponsorship for tax-deductible donations. Leaders could also recruit volunteers, strengthen support networks, connect with local decision makers, and access expertise in urban planning, green infrastructure, community organizing, and communications. ioby supported more than 3,800 projects and helped leaders raise over $21 million in small donations. The organization was based in Brooklyn and served community initiatives nationwide.
