Film services
Developing and scanning for film photographers.
Film developing and scanning, darkroom rentals, classes, and workshops were the core offerings. The darkroom served analog photographers at different experience levels, with instruction in film chemistry, printing, and alternative processes. Photographers could rent equipped darkroom stations by the hour, day, or month, while memberships offered access to the space. The organization also hosted group exhibitions, pop-ups, art fairs, and open calls for photographers to share their work. Founded in 2011 as a DIY film lab, Bushwick Community Darkroom grew into a shared space for photographers, artists, teachers, and neighbors in Brooklyn. It closed its physical location on June 30, 2026; its website remains online as an archive and a place for updates.
