McBournie Richards

Based in Boston, McBournie Richards is an interior design firm shaped by fine arts, history, and a shared interest in thoughtful design. Its principals, Gary McBournie and Bill Richards, bring complementary perspectives: McBournie draws on color, composition, and storytelling, while Richards focuses on architectural history and the narratives of a home. Together, they develop layered, personal interiors with a sense of place. The firm's work spans interior design, textiles, publishing, and cultural collaborations. Its approach connects fine-art sensibility with historical context, aiming for spaces that feel refined and lived in. The partners have worked together for more than fifteen years, and their forthcoming book is planned for Spring 2028, offering a look at recent projects and their creative partnership.
