Legal assistance for nonprofit organizations and community groups is the core offering. Community Law Center helps groups starting nonprofits, building board capacity, and addressing neighborhood nuisances through legal expertise, advocacy, and partnerships. It also hosts workshops and trainings on how the law affects organizations and ideas, including a two-hour training for people interested in starting or maintaining a nonprofit. Workshops can be designed for an organization's needs. The center has assisted groups with becoming tax-exempt organizations, including 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) entities, and with exploring legal paths toward community goals. It serves neighborhoods and nonprofits in Baltimore.
