The Opal J. Smith Food Pantry

The Opal J. Smith Food Pantry provides fresh and non-perishable food to individuals and families facing food insecurity. It is part of Sharing Life Community Outreach, which also offers clothing, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and medical equipment as non-food essentials. Additional services include financial coaching, GED testing, job support, workshops, and help with rent, mortgage, and utility expenses. During extreme cold, the organization provides temporary hotel stays, warm meals, clothing, and essentials. Seasonal offerings include holiday meals, Christmas gifts, summer food programs, and school supplies. The pantry serves the Balch Springs community as part of a broader community and social services organization.
