Two artists-in-residence each academic year conclude their residencies with exhibitions in the main gallery. The Visual Arts Center is a 13,000-square-foot gallery in the College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin, free and open to the public. Its exhibition program presents solo and group shows by national and international artists, including artists with limited visibility in Texas. Public programs include artist talks, tours, lectures, workshops, and critiques. The center also collaborates on student-curated exhibitions through its Center Space Project, faculty and student Fieldwork Projects, and annual thesis exhibitions featuring graduating seniors and MFA students. These exhibitions and programs bring contemporary art into conversation with communities across Central Texas.
