About Southerners On New Ground
Member-initiated projects are an invitation for Southerners on New Ground (SONG) members to shape the organization's work. SONG is a regional organization serving communities across the South, with an administrative and communications hub in Atlanta. It builds a kinship network through membership, chapters, convenings, and organizing campaigns. Members come together to build relationships and strategize, while projects and campaigns address community priorities. SONG also offers organizing education, including its Down With Data Centers Organizing School, and shares resources such as its Strategic Almanac and podcast, The Porch. Its work centers LGBTQ communities and Black feminist organizing, with a focus on transforming communities through collective action and leadership.
