Atlanta Contemporary commissions new works, including projects by artists without a significant exhibition in the Southeast. Founded in 1973 as the grassroots artists' cooperative Nexus, it presents contemporary art through exhibitions, project spaces, and programs. Admission is free every day. The center organizes more than 125 programs annually, including Contemporary Kids, Contemporary Cocktails, and Contemporary Talks. It also provides 13 subsidized on-site studio spaces to working artists through its Studio Artist Program. Exhibitions feature local, national, and international artists, with upcoming presentations including Gabi Madrid's "The Bed Series," Natalie Rose Eddings' "A Litany for Shelter," and Miatta Kawinzi's "An Alphabet of Unfolding."
