About Alaska Medical Missions
Alaska Medical Missions is a nonprofit humanitarian organization. It collects surplus, fully functional medical supplies and equipment from hospitals, manufacturers, medical facilities, and individuals. Donations are staged at a warehouse before being distributed by individuals, groups, and partner organizations to clinics and providers in communities around the world. The work helps reduce medical waste while supplying resources to areas with healthcare needs. Since 1999, the organization has sent more than 1,000 shipments of medical supplies and humanitarian aid to over 100 countries. It also accepts financial gifts to support the distribution of supplies. Based in Anchorage, Alaska Medical Missions partners with organizations working to improve healthcare and provide care to people in need.
