Summit Cycling Center

Refurbished bikes are available for sale at Summit Cycling Center, a community-focused bicycle nonprofit in downtown Akron. The center offers affordably priced cycling goods and services, including new and refurbished parts, bike maintenance and repairs, and basic maintenance instruction. Customers can use a workbench, stand, and tools for a $10 bench-time fee. The organization recycles used bicycles and refurbishes them to support its work and give the public an opportunity to learn bicycle mechanics. It also teaches bike-building basics to volunteers and groups. Located in the basement of the former O'Neil's Department Store building near Lock 3, Summit Cycling Center promotes bicycles and other human-powered vehicles as transportation alternatives.
